Ajay Munot, resident of Lasar town in Aurangabad district, has set an example for the society by distributing 90 houses to the homeless people as a gift on his daughter wedding. He built these one BHK houses at a coast on Rs 1.5 crore. Wholesale trader of cloth and wheat, Munot constructed this colony on 2 acres of land.
Before giving the houses Munot has set three criteria for these people- He needs to be poor, lives in slum and third he does not have some sort of addiction. Each home is 12 by 20 sq. Ft – compromising one BHK. It has two windows, two doors, light fitting and painted. These 90 homes were constructed in the last two months by spending Rs 1.5 crore.
“This is the new chapter in history and I hope that the same concept will be followed by the other rich communities. We have some responsibilities towards our society and we tried to comply with it,” he added.
After the wedding, the couple handed over the keys to people. The bride also expressed her happiness and said, “I am very happy with the decision and will consider it as my marriage gift.”
Instead of spending almost 90 lakh rupees on his daughter’s wedding, the way this man curtailed unnecessary expenditures for this noble cause is indeed laudable. We salute him for setting such an example in the society.
